Privacy

Files never touch our servers in a direct transfer. BeamUp opens an encrypted (DTLS) WebRTC connection between your two browsers; the bytes go from one device to the other.

The cloud relay (Pro, or the free daily allowance) forwards encrypted chunks between the two devices in memory and does not write them to disk. We count bytes per account to enforce plan limits.

What we store: your account (name, email, Google ID if you sign in with Google), the devices you link (name, type, browser), and — for signed-in users — a transfer history (file names, sizes, the other device's name, direction and timing) for your plan's history window. Guests keep history only in their own browser.

Nearby discovery uses a hash of your public IP address so that devices behind the same connection can see each other. The hash is short-lived and not stored.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see your card number.
